Donate in Memory

Simon Brown
1943-2006

Donations from Simon's funeral enabled us to educate Sangeetha Basnet (above), a deaf girl in Nepal, who wanted to go on to work in health.

Simon Brown, a local friend with whom we shared endless afternoon teas (at which he drank strong black coffee with four sugars), died after years of uncomplaining physical suffering. He supported our projects staunchlyand attended three BODHI Australia annual general meetings.

Donate in Memory

Keep alive the memory of those dear to you (pets by negotiation!) while helping the world's poorest and most forgotten women, children and men.

People are donating for:
The clash between old ways and new: training courses for traditional healers in Nepal
A way to make a living: micro-credit for nomads in Western Tibet
Train-the-trainer: education for a deaf girl in Nepal
Health care for nomads in Eastern Tibet
Scholarships for urban working girl children and rural girls in Bangladesh

Since 2006, we've lost Ken McConnell, Simon Brown, Jim Meyers and John Bell.

Do it here!

Ken McConnell
1955-2006

Donations in Ken's name bought vital medicines and other supplies to a health care clinic in Jamseng, Eatern Tibet.

Colin's friend since medical school, Ken recommended BODHI to the members of four expeditions he led to Nepal and Tibet. Some of our supporters accompanied Ken on these trips, particularly that of 1994 to Lhakpa Ri in Tibet. Ken had recently qualified as a psychiatrist.

Jim Meyers
1921-2008
Donations in lieu of flowers at Jim's funeral funded 2 refresher training courses for traditional healers and 1 health promotion play in Nepal.

August, 2011: donations still arrive. We use them to help train traditional healers in Nepal, & have purchased table tennis equipment and fire extinguishers for the Moanoghar School & Orphanage in Bangladesh and compassionate education at the SNEHA School in Diyun, NE India.

John Bell loved the Revolving Sheep Bank. What Ruth Grant started, John's daughter, Annie, continues with very generous annual donations in his name.
