Health Care for Nomads
in Eastern Tibet
BODHI supports the Jamseng Health Care Centre in Tibet.
The health care problems of the 8,000 nomads in the
Zadoh region of Eastern Tibet are poverty-related.
They include:
- Tuberculosis
- Glaucoma
- Heart disease
- Kidney and bladder stones
- Gall bladder and stomach upset
- Rheumatism and arthritis
- 30% of newborns die
- Many young babies die from diarrhoea and dehydration
The Jamseng Health Care Clinic needs funds to:
- Build rooms for patients
- Pay salaries for doctors and support staff
- Purchase medicine and equipment
